Things that are happening

So much going on! It's been a busy couple of months, and the fun doesn't stop! I'm just gonna dump a lot of happenings here, so my apologies if this post becomes bloated and tl;dr.

Last weekend I did the Bloomington Handmade Market Holiday Show, which is by far my favorite craft fair to participate in. It's well attended, profitable for me, and seems to draw a crowd that appreciates my work. Also, the volunteer staff is super helpful, and it's always well organized. The icing on the cupcake is that they provide coffee and noms for the vendors, which pretty much means I'm sold on the whole thing:)

There were some really rad vendors there this year. Here are a few of my faves:

I tweaked my display a bit for BHM. I'm pretty happy with it so far, but I still think it could use some improvement. I spray painted a lot of little pedestals, but I didn't give them enough time to cure, so the paint was still tacky. Everyone thought my stuff was attached to the pedestals to keep them from knocking over!

I definitely need more inventory next time! I think my booth looked a little bare. I gotta get faster at making stuff.

Several other awesome things are happening. We have two events happening at Beech Grove Clay Works that I'm really excited about. The first is our holiday Ceramic and Chili Bowl sale!
Students are busy making things to sell, and I'll have a few things available as well, including some wheel thrown ornaments I'm making. If you're in the area, come check out the studio, grab a handmade bowl and some chili, and do a little holiday shopping!

The second is that I'm doing two kid's clay workshops in December. I'm really excited about this! My summer kids class was so much fun, so I can't wait to do another one. I've got so many ideas for clay projects!
It's a week long class, and it's super affordable. So if your kids need something fun to do over the holiday break (or you just need a mini break from your kids), be sure to sign them up! There's a 15 student maximum, so don't wait!

Finally, I'm doing a 3 woman show at Earth House, and I'm so stoked about it.
More info on that to come!

Other than that, I've been making all kinds of things, some of which have broken (or exploded),

and others that are turning out pretty rad.

It's been a bit of a roller coaster ride on that front, but on the whole I'm excited about the direction that my work is taking of late. I'm making new items for the show in January, as well as planning to start putting my work in Paper Crane Gallery in Bloomington, which is another thing I'm excited about. I'll keep you posted on when my work will be available there. I know I've got one Bloomington reader that will be happy to hear that!

Ok, so that's about it for this mega post. Thanks for checking in! Hope to see you at the next awesome event:D

Did you? That's awesome! I wanted to send that jar down, but oh well. I'm hoping to send down the mini jars, and some other small things and see how they do. When did you send your stuff?

Glad you like the pig! I got inspired by Nich's aunt's love of pigs, and my friend Vanessa's awesome paper mache piggies:)
